DAM Once in a Lifetime Experience - The Glory of Venice

Since the beginning of October 2016, the Denver Art Museum has been host to an amazing exhibition of colorful creativity which helped Venice to become internationally known throughout and after the Renaissance period. The artists of this period in Venice used color and depth in a way that it had rarely been used before. Mostly religious in nature, many of the paintings were probably commissioned by the Catholic Church and one can see the true passion that the artists had when painting them. The Triumph of Venice by Pompeo Girolamo Batoni We made a visit to see "The Glory of Venice" about a month ago and it is one of the best displays of art that I have seen from this time period. Dating from the mid 1400s to the early 1500s, it is some of Venice's greatest work. First Visit to MCA Denver

Last week, I got a chance to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Denver. This was my first visit to MCA Denver and I was not disappointed. Aside from the wonderful art that I saw at the museum, the thing that impressed me the most about MCA Denver was its' dedication to up and coming artist and the feeling it gives as one views its' variety of galleries. Your name does not have to be Rembrandt, Picasso, Warhol, or ..., well you get the idea. Nothing against the great classic artists, we all love to look at their work, but it is nice to tour a gallery that gives a young or up and coming artist a sense that maybe their work could be shown in an awesome setting like the MCA Denver. Let me be clear, this is not a knock on the MCA or any of the artists with works there.
